Rahman, Dhaka, Uttara January 10: The 21st
February, the International Mother Language Day was observed in Rajuk Uttara
Model College with due respect and solemnity. To remember the sacrifice of
Salam, Barkat, Rafique and Jabbar for the sake of mother language in 1952, the
day is now being observed throughout the world. As a part of our national and
international programme Rajuk Uttara Model College, Dhaka also celebrates the
day every year.
This year on the
occasion, the students as well as the teachers of the college brought out a
bare-footed procession leading to the Sahid Minar and offered a number of
wreaths of flowers there. They put on black badges on their shoulders as a
symbol of sorrows for the martyrs. They recited the mournful song “Amar vaier
rakte rangano ekushe February ..........” After this, at about 9 a.m. a discussion meeting and dowa – mahfil were
held in the college auditorium. Principal Breg. General Md. Emamul Huda was in
the chair. Among others honorable professor, Md. Talebul Islam Sarker and Md.
Aminur Rahman Khan spoke on the occasion.
